Day Shift - 7am to 3.30pm

Must be qualified in electrical work, hydraulics and general maintenance.


7.00am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday

John Guest are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to strengthen their production engineering department. The ideal candidate will be working as a Process Engineer in the plastics industry and possess a good injection moulding qualification such as IMT NVQ Level 3 or G&A Technology or BPTA certification and preferably a related degree.

Main responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead injection moulding process development from commissioning through to manufacturing, developing robust injection moulding processes.
  • Develop the commissioning process, implementing processing and tooling standards.
  • Work closely with design and tool room to provide support to assist in tool design and layout.
  • Liaise between tool design, process development setters and production throughout product life cycle.
  • Provide training and support to engineering and production staff.

Experience required:
  • A proven track record of process development within the plastics industry.
  • A wide experience of engineering polymers across a range of industries.
  • Use of DOE and Process Capability studies.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.


7am to 3.00pm - Monday to Friday

Due to the specialist nature of the machines full training will be given to the right candidate although previous experience would be advantageous. Applicants should be able to demonstrate good mechanical skills gained in an engineering background. This vacancy may suit candidates from a manufacturing environment.



This role will involve machining parts on lathes, mills and grinders and applicants will need to possess good mechanical or machining skills, however full training will be provided. Whilst training the successful candidate will work 7.00am to 3.30pm and upon completion of training the hours of work will be 2.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Friday.


(3 Years - Must have Maths and English GCSE’s grades A to C)

If you are interested in undertaking an engineering apprenticeship and want to become a skilled toolmaker, then why not apply to John Guest. You will be registered for the first 29 weeks of employment to take study for your NVQ at a local college of Further Education such as Kingston College. Thereafter, you will return to the Company site at West Drayton to complete your in-house training.
On successful completion you will have the opportunity to become a skilled toolmaker within John Guest Engineering. You will receive training and guidance in producing your portfolio of evidence along with experience within the workplace.


Night Shift (19.00hrs to 07.00hrs) 28 continental rota
Working an average of 40.25 hours per week

An international leader in the design and manufacture of plastic “push-in” connectors require additional skilled setters for the expanding Moulding Department.

The ideal candidate will have the following:-
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Setting Injection Moulding machines.
  • Experience of multi-cavity tooling and hot runners.
  • Further training given to experienced candidates.


Monday to Friday - Late shift (3pm to 11pm) & Night shift (11pm to 7am)

Applicants with nimble fingers who can operate light, clean, small machines and also hand assemble our range of plastic components, are needed for our very modern factory.
Applicants are required to have good verbal and written communication skills, assembly experience would be advantageous. Excellent working conditions, wages and benefits.


(Based at Horton Road, West Drayton)
Monday to Friday - 15.00hrs to 23.00hrs

You’ll be responsible for the movement and organising of work in the packing department, reporting to the Department Supervisor.
The role involves using computers to set printer information, using scanners, setting and loading packing machines with the correct products to ensure continuous running and keeping all machines supplied with the correct consumable items. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work, you must be able to understand and complete documentation and be expected to carry out basic repairs to machinery as well as to hand, machine and bulk pack when required. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical experience and have computer and organisational skills.


(7am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday)

You will play an important role in quality control, as you test product samples in line with written procedures and agreed working practices. This will involve calibrating equipment, recording data and communicating any anomalies via detailed reports, whilst carefully cataloguing all our samples.
To join us, you should bring a good understanding of scientific and laboratory procedures, ideally gained in a similar industrial environment. Proven ability to set up hydrostatic or water pulse test rigs and maintain these in working condition would be a major advantage, but most importantly you will be flexible, meticulous and capable of learning fast.


Monday, Wednesday & Friday 06.00hrs to 12.00hrs 

Cash handling skills and a food hygiene certificate – level 1 are required for this role along with excellent communication and numerical skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. A full, clean drivers licence is also required as regular visits to both the Bracknell and Maidenhead sites will be an essential part of this role.
