AREA SALES MANAGER
Central region – which covers the following areas:
Derbyshire, South Staffordshire and South Yorkshire
Committed to the growth of John Guest our objective is to expand innovative solutions for end users in the Plumbing Industry and are now seeking a dynamic individual to join our sales force. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager daily, this role involves:
- Targeting and calling upon the UK’s top plumbing contractors and developers to create demand
- Building relationships and calling upon a network of trade stockists
- Promoting and develop sales of new product ranges
The ideal candidate will have a sound commercial background with proven history of new business achievements. Applicants need to be articulate, numerate, have the ability to achieve management objectives and show initiative. A good knowledge of the plumbing industry would be advantageous but not essential.
Night shift – 23.00hrs to 07.00hrs (Monday to Friday)
The ideal applicant will have nimble fingers to hand assemble our range of plastic components and be able to operate light, clean, small machines. Good verbal and written communication skills are an essential requirement for this role, previous assembly experience would be advantageous.
TEMPORARY MACHINE OPERATOR/GENERAL HANDS
Day shift – 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs
Night shift – 19.00hrs to 07.00hrs
28 day continental rota system (approx 41.125 hours per week)
Responsible for manufactured parts and product movement, your duties will include the assembly of products manually and using automatic machines, quality checks, quality testing and ensuring that all works orders are accompanied by the correct documentation. Operating the machines to achieve maximum output you will report all deviations from the specification to the Supervisor or deputy and assist in the movement of work throughout the department. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Monday to Friday – 07.00hrs to 15.30hrs
(Will consider a 30 hour week over 5 days)
Creating and maintaining product drawings and data sheets using a computer aided design system, the ideal candidate will be computer literate and possess good organisational skills along with excellent attention to detail. Experience of computer aided design would be beneficial although not essential as training will be provided and experience of working in an office environment is preferred.
INJECTION MOULDING SETTERS
24/7 NIGHT SHIFT – 7.00pm to 7.00am
(28 day continental rota system (approx 40.25 hrs per week)
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Setting Injection Moulding machines.
- Experience of multi-cavity tooling and hot runners.
- Further training given to experienced candidates.
TEMPORARY PURCHASE LEDGER ADMINISTRATOR
(9 to 12 month contract)
08.30hrs to 17.00hrs Monday to Thursday (16.30hrs finish on Fridays)
Duties will include:
- Registering invoices on a daily basis
- Matching, coding and posting invoices onto computer
- Checking purchase ledger orders against purchase order audit trails
- Collecting and filing of signed goods received notes, processed invoices and approved transaction reports
- Posting manual cash
- Reconciliation of statements
- To assist within the administration department as requested by the Supervisor / Manager
- Scanning/Archiving of Departmental documents
The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, a keen eye for detail and an enthusiastic and flexible approach. Previous purchase ledger experience is an essential requirement for this role.

LATE SHIFT – 3PM TO 11PM
You’ll be responsible for the movement and organising of work in the packing department, reporting to the Department Supervisor. The role involves using computers to set printer information, using scanners, setting and loading packing machines with the correct products to ensure continuous running and keeping all machines supplied with the correct consumable items.
Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work, you must be able to understand and complete documentation and be expected to carry out basic repairs to machinery as well as to hand, machine and bulk pack when required. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical experience and have computer and organisational skills.
Component Stores Department
Day shift – 06.00hrs to 14.30hrs
You will be responsible for issuing component parts to works orders in relation to client requirements.
Computer literacy essential as well as an organised and methodical approach to work. Previous stores experience preferred.
FORKLIFT TRUCK DRIVERS/GENERAL HAND
Day shift: 7am to 3pm
Evening shift: 3pm to 11pm
You need to be hard working, self-motivated, flexible and able to work using your own initiative. With good communication skills and the ability to use computers and scanners, you will be responsible for all documentation required in respect of allocating, issuing and booking work in and out. With an understanding of works order routings, you will load packing machines with the ability to pack finished products by machine or hand. You will also be required to organise the loading of pallets for movement to other departments and the loading and unloading of work to vehicles.
Experience of driving a counterbalance forklift is an essential requirement for this role and you must possess a full UK driver’s licence.
