Step 2 - Assemble the connection

Connecting John Guest Underground Fittings

Cut the tube square using pipe cutters or shears ensuring pipe end is free of burrs and sharp edges. No pipe bevelling is required.

Always use a pipe insert.

The fitting is supplied ready for installation and requires no adjustment. Push the pipe into the fitting.

Push the pipe up to the internal pipe stop, a distance of approximately 50mm. Lubrication is not required. The collet has teeth that grip whilst the 'O' ring provides a permanent leak proof seal.

To Disconnect

Ensure the system is depressurised. Release and pull back collet cover. Push in collet square against the face of fitting. With the collet held in this position, the pipe can be withdrawn.

We recommend the replacement of the 'O' ring and collet before making a new connection.
