What to Expect from the Apprenticeship Program
John Guest apprentices are expected to attend college on a block and/or day release format and complete relevant Technical Certificates and NVQ’s. Subject to an offer of joining the company as a Technician Apprentice candidates may also complete a HNC and/or HND which would require day release at college.
Throughout the apprenticeship program candidates will receive training from John Guest about the various aspects of the chosen pathway and gain valuable experience using the latest technology and equipment.
Apprentices will have the opportunity to work in various departments within the company, which would include:
- CNC Machine Shop
- Injection Moulding
- Automation
- Commissioning
- Engineering CNC Machine Shop
- Production Engineering
- Production Development
- Test Laboratory
- Tool Design
- Tooling Inspection
- Toolroom
On completion of the Apprenticeship program the candidate will become a skilled Craftsman or Technician and will be expected to produce quality work to match the high standards maintained by the company. The candidate is presented an
Apprentice Award by John Guest and a Government Apprenticeship Completion Certificate.
The John Guest Engineering Apprenticeship program is recognised by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. On successful completion of a John Guest Engineering Apprenticeship candidates can apply for IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) Membership and register with the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician.
