RWC targets manufacturing efficiency with second solar panel installation

Solar Panels on the roofs of the RWC West Drayton site

RWC has completed a large-scale solar panel installation at its West Drayton manufacturing facility. The installation follows a similar project at the company’s Launceston site, marking a significant milestone in RWC’s commitment to achieving its emissions sustainability goals decreasing market-based Scope 2 Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.

The solar panel system is expected to deliver around 8% of the total power consumed on site annually, significantly reducing reliance on traditional energy sources and cutting the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing activities. Alongside the environmental benefits of the solar installation, RWC’s investment is futureproofing its UK operations with cost effective energy production, helping to maintain energy costs over the long term.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the installation is its self-sufficiency, with 96.2% of all energy produced by the panels being utilised on site. This means that our UK operations will benefit directly from the clean and renewable energy generated, leading to reduced electricity bills and a more sustainable manufacturing process.

Additionally, by harnessing solar power, we are significantly lowering our carbon footprint, thus contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmental conservation. This aligns with our commitment to fostering a healthier planet for future generations.
